HISTORICAL OVERVIEW

The Camano Bible Training Center (CBTC) is a lay Bible College with the desire to:
  • improve your Biblical understanding and knowledge
  • help you grow in your personal walk with Christ
  • be better prepared for ministry
Starting in September 2005, the program consisted of seven classes over a three-and-a-half-year period (no classes in the summer). The seven classes were: Bible Study Methods, Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Bible Doctrine Survey, Personal Spiritual Life, Church History, and Missions/Evangelism/Discipleship. See the course descriptions below for more information. TODAY, Camano Bible Training Center offers "Open Electives" open to adults and mature youth. This means no pre-requisit courses must be taken to register. Come ... join this impacting forum of teaching, discussion and fellowship.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When do the classes meet?
The classes meet on Wednesday nights.  The Fall semester begins in September and ends before Thanksgiving. The Winter/Spring semester begins in January and ends in May. Class time averages 2 hours a night.

Are there papers to write and tests to take; do I receive a grade?
NO.  There is no cramming or exams or writing papers or grades. CBTC is designed as a "church-based" equipping and training ministry, not a formal education institution. Student motivation comes from a personal desire to be Biblically equipped and trained for effective ministry. The only homework consists of approximately one hour of weekly Bible reading and reviewing the material for the upcoming meeting.

What materials are used?
Each student receives a course manual the first night of class. The NIV Study Bible is also required for each class. If you do not have this version of the Bible you will need to purchase your own copy.

Who teaches the classes?
Camano Chapel's Senior Pastor Kris Kramer, and Pastors Steve Redfern and Mich Michl.

Who can enroll?
Spiritually motivated high school age and above.

What is the cost?
Tuition for each class is $45 payable at time of registration. Thus, if all seven classes are taken the total cost would be $315.

How do I enroll?
Registration for the initial class, Bible Study Methods, occurs during the late Spring and Summer of each year for the Fall semester. Announcements will be made at the time and a registration form made available. Class size is limited to the first 20 paid registrations.
