It’s been an honor to have been teaching Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes at Camano Chapel for the past 24 years. I graduated from George Fox University in 1984 with my teaching degree in early education. In 1989, I proposed the idea of beginning a Pre-School program to the church Board and with their blessing and encouragement, started my first class of eight students that year. Since then, we’ve grown to have as many as six classes with a total of 75 kids in the program. Our program incorporates Christian teachings and values. If offers a variety of experiences that foster and allow children to develop social, emotional, creative, and intellectual skills. Some of the ways we do this is through hands on projects and experiments, monthly field trips, music, stories, art, and playing on the playground or gymnasium. We strive to have a fun, safe learning environment that helps kids become motivated to do their best to prepare them for the public, private, or home school experience. |
